Hi, I'm Jenny
I started my hairstylist journey thirteen years ago, driven by a deep desire to be more than an average hairstylist. Graduating in 2012, I spent a year and a half as an assistant, gaining valuable salon experience, mastering technical cutting techniques, understanding the client journey, and learning from critical mistakes that shook my confidence. Despite the initial excitement, days began to feel unfulfilling, reflecting in my work. Things got tougher when I was let go, but encouraged by a beauty school teacher, I took a leap and became an Independent Contractor.
Picture this: 21, supporting myself, relying on government help, no clientele, and about to dive into debt to start my own business. Failure was not an option. Building clientele, I worked a second job, gave out pamphlets on streets, and did everything to create an unforgettable experience.
By 2015, I started making a name through social media on Facebook and Instagram. Business and Instagram courses transformed my path. The real insight hit when I was pregnant, wanting a home but couldn't get a loan due to low income. This woke me up to understanding numbers and optimizing services for profit and efficiency. I got obsessed. Naturally tech-savvy, I used these tools to grow, leading to "Girl Gone Bronde" in 2017.
Over three years, I scaled up, becoming the most sought-after stylist. Income went from $44,000 in 2017 to $107,000 by 2020. How? Effective systems, branding, marketing, pricing techniques. This, with welcoming twins and opening a salon in 2020.
Today, I sold my share of the successful salon. My business runs smoothly, grossing $14k/month, with me working three days a week. As a mom of three, I know the challenges of balancing career and family. Creative solutions streamlined my life and business.
